Operational note: Day 9. We suggest a later flight at 4 PM Day 1 Posadas / Puerto Valle. D Arrival at Posadas airport and transfer to Puerto Valle in the province of Corrientes to visit two portals of the Esteros del Ibera, one of the largest wetlands in the world. Total travelled distance: 61 km (37 miles) Travel time: 1 hour Day 2 & 3 Puerto Valle. B L D During these days we enjoyed the programmed activities. Navigation of the Laguna Valle. Visit to the Cambyreta Portal: Portal that constitutes the northern entrance to the Iberá National Park. Ideal for wildlife and photography lovers. Sailing the Paraná River: Leaving from the dock, it is possible to navigate the Paraná River to reach the Paranaense rainforest. Kayaking: A trip through the calm waters of the river, an adventure for sport and nature lovers. Sendero de la Ribera: An invitation to enter the exuberant vegetation in search of the tracks of howler monkeys. Horseback riding: Ideal activity to enjoy the colorful sunsets of Corrientes. Visit to the park, nursery and orchard. Day 4 Puerto Valle/ Las Marias / Estancia Santa Inés. B L D In the morning, we head to Las Marías Establishment that is the largest yerba mate producer and indeed, the perfect place to learn step by step all the secrets of a good ‘mate’ while exploring its facilities. After lunch, we depart to Estancia Santa Inés, pioneer in yerba mate plantations. Total travelled distance: 156 km (96 miles) Travel time: 5 hours Day 5 Estancia Santa Inés. B L D Enjoy an estancia that invites you to share part of its history, visit yerbales (the oldest dating back to 1907), walk through the virgin forest while enjoying the flora and fauna of Misiones. Day 6 Estancia Santa Inés / Puerto Iguazú. B We travel to Puerto Iguazú and on the way, we visit San Ignacio Ruins, declared Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. Continuation towards Puerto Iguazú. Total travelled distance: 308 km (191 miles) Total travel time: 7 hours Day 7 Puerto Iguazú. B Today we spend the day in Iguazú National Park to visit the Iguazú Falls that have been declared Natural Heritage by UNESCO and one of the Seven Modern Wonders of Nature. During the tour, we explore the three trails of the park: Garganta del Diablo in addition to the Upper and Lower trails. Day 8 Puerto Iguazú. B In the morning we moved to Lorenza, a private reserve, immersed in an abundant jungle to visit a typical missionary cottage, the perfect place to capture the atmosphere of local life. After a 2 km walk we rest on a deck overlooking the imposing Paraná River, the ideal place to enjoy a mate or tereré (cold mate) while we exchange experiences. Day 9 Puerto Iguazú. B In the morning we visit the falls on the Brazilian side where we have a view of almost all the falls. At due time, transfer to the airport.
